Dealing with Postpartum Depression

Mar 20, 2019

Each day the thoughts get just a little bit louder, but not too loud. Not loud enough for you to actually notice what’s going on. Because, ya know, that’d be too easy. It’s not until the thoughts are playing full blast in your mind that you realize, something may not be right here. And that’s if you even realize it at all.

Do Not Disturb: I’m in the middle of a miscarriage

Mar 20, 2019

There is no do not disturb setting for pregnancy loss. I think people assume you wake up one morning pregnant and go to bed beginning to process a loss. That’s not always the case. Motherhood is so layered. I’ve slowly been easing my way back into society it seems like. It’s been difficult but I am reminded I am stronger than I believe I am at times.

A Journey to Motherhood

Mar 19, 2019

On my journey to motherhood, and becoming the perfect mother I lost myself. One day I looked in the mirror and no longer knew who I was or what I needed. I could tell you what my five year old son wanted for his birthday or how my three year old daughter loved her eggs, but what did I like? What was my favorite movie? How did I like my eggs?

My Advice for New Moms

Mar 19, 2019

Do what works for you. Do not stress yourself out because your baby isn’t sleeping how the pediatricians says he should be sleeping, even though you’ve tried multiple times. Do not worry that your son can’t sit still for longer then 10 seconds even though his cousin has mastered the art of circle time. You don’t have some cookie cutter child that acts exactly like every other child. You are the mother, no one else. You know what works best for you and your child, you have a mother’s intuition, use it.

I Still Get Anxiety Breastfeeding In Public

Mar 19, 2019

As moms we should try to stick together. Even if what I’m doing isn’t exactly what you would do. No need to bash me. I’m just trying to feed my hungry baby. Who doesn’t care if we’re at home in bed or at a restaurant ordering food.

Welcome to NewMomHealth.com™

We envision a world where every woman receives the social, emotional, physical, and economic support she needs to successfully transition through the postpartum period and into her new identity and life as a mother. Health care systems, businesses, and society should value and respect women not only for what they bring to families, communities, and nations but also for who they are in and of themselves.
